"Today stupid and tomorrow stupid and the day after tomorrow again" tells the first almost 35 years of band history of the Abfallenden Brieftauben and traces the development of (fun) punk in Germany.
Founded at the end of 1983 as a taunt of the NDW in the heart of the vibrant Hanoverian punk scene, the self-proclaimed "fun punk duo no. 1" was to become the figurehead of German fun punk in the early 1990s. Neither the turbulent DIY genesis of the debut album Das wern wern we already done from 1986, nor the unbelievable record deal with EMI from 1989 (including cooperation with BRAVO and the newly born private television), nor the festival of the folk music tour in 1990 through the east of the republic , or even the guest appearance in Hape Kerkeling's cult feature film Kein Pardon (1993) may be missing.
In over 30 interviews, companions and contemporary witnesses (e.g. Olga from the Toy Dolls, Ted Gaier and Schorsch Kamerun from the Golden Lemons, Rodrigo González from the Doctors) describe in their own words what really happened, how they experienced it then and how they do it today think about it. The biography was created in close collaboration with founding member Micro Bogumil and is authorized by the band and management.
