Die drei ersten Alben von CAT TV in einer Box!

Die Band aus Cuxhaven, 1978 gegründet, debütierte 1980 mit dem selbstbetitelten Album "Cats TV" und schaffte es bis in die Top 50 der deutschen Albumcharts. Dies gelang auch dem ein Jahr Später auf den Markt gebrachten Nachfolger "Killerautomat". "Nr. 3" aus dem Jahr 1983 blieb dann das für lange Jahre das Letzte, was von der Band zu hören war.

Lange ist es, was Neuveröffentlichungen der Climax Bluesband angeht, ruhig geblieben. Die aktuelle Besetzung, die nach zahlreichen Umbesetzungen zwar kein Gründungsmitglied mehr hat, gibt mit „Hands Of Time“ endlich wieder ein musikalisches Lebenszeichen mit neuen Songs und setzt die über 50-jährige Bandgeschichte fort.
Dabei besinnt die Band sich auf die schon in der Vergangenheit bewährte instrumentale Struktur und dem ihr eigenen Groove. Der charismatische Fronter Graham Dee nimmt den Zuhörer, mit seiner eindringlichen leicht kratzigen, aber sehr klaren Stimme bei den Songs, in seinen Bann. Die Stücke haben meist klare Rhythmusstrukturen, welche sich im Bereich Blues bis Rock, teils mit souligen Einflüssen, meist im Midtempo befinden. Eingestreut sind auch einige Balladen, die den Zuhörer ins Träumen bringen können und nochmals die Ausdrucksstärke Dees Stimme beweisen.
Die Grundlage für den kompakten Sound legen die schon seit über 30 Jahren in der Band spielenden Neil Simpson am Bass und Roy Adams am Schlagzeug.
Eine besondere Note bringen die Urgesteine der Band, Lester Hunt an der Gitarre und George Glover an den Keyboards in den unverkennbaren Sound ein. Hunt mit Rhytmusarbeit und klar gespielten eingestreuten Soli verzichtet auf überflüssigen Schnickschnack, sondern bevorzugt klare Töne, während Glover nicht nur die Songs mit Klangteppichen untermalt, sondern auch mit furiosen und einfühlsamer Leadarbeit an den Keyboards und am Piano überzeugt.
Frischen Wind haben aber mit Sicherheit der schon genannte Graham Dee am Gesang und Chris Aldridge am Saxofon und der Mundharmonika der Band eingehaucht, welche erst 2012 zur Band gestoßen sind. Aldridge mit starken Saxophonsoli ist dabei zuweilen ein kongenialer Partner von Hunt an der Gitarre.
Ein erfrischendes Songwriting, was sich an der Bandgeschichte orientiert, hat der Climax Blues Band wieder neues Leben eingehaucht, was an die Erfolgszeiten der Band anknüpft und nicht nur bei den eingefleischten Fans der Briten Gefallen finden wird.
Mit „Hands Of Time“ hat die Band auf jedem Fall ein eindrucksvolles abwechslungsreiches Album ohne musikalische Lückenfüller hingelegt, welches die musikalische Stärke der Band zeigt und belegt, dass sie noch einmal richtig durchstarten wollen. Der Kauf des neuen Werks wird den Fans mit Sicherheit die Wartezeit auf eine kommende Tour verkürzen und vermutlich sogar das sehnsüchtige Warten darauf verstärken.

Die amerikanische Formation Mountain steht seit fast fünf Dekaden für druckvoll melodischen Hardrock in höchster Perfektion, Songs wie „Mississippi Queen«, »Nantucket Sleighride“, „Theme From An Imaginary Western“ oder „Blood Of The Sun“ zählen zu den unsterblichen Klassikern der Rockmusik, die bis auf den heutigen Tag nichts von ihrer faszinierenden Kraft und Wirkung verloren haben.
1969 in New York von Leslie West, Felix Pappaladi, Steve Knight und Corky Laing gegründet, avancierte das von Fans und Kritikern als Cream-Nachfolger gehandelte Quartett, das noch im selben Jahr im Rahmen des legendären Woodstock-Festivals auftrat, zu einem der erfolgreichsten Acts des Genres. So gehen weit mehr als zwanzig Alben – darunter diverse goldveredelte Veröffentlichungen – auf das kreative Konto, der bis heute in wechselnden Besetzungen aktiven Band.
Auf dem jetzt vorliegenden, am 12. Februar 2016 im niedersächsischen Melle im Rahmen ihrer „German-Sleighride-Tour“ aufgezeichneten Konzertmitschnitt liefert das neben Schlagzeuger, Sänger und Gründungsmitglied Corky Laing aus Phil Parker (Gitarre, Gesang) sowie Joe Venti (Bass, Gesang) bestehende Powertrio eine furiose Kostprobe seiner bandtypischen, stets wiedererkennbaren Hardrock-Variante.

Fors besteht seit 2016. Aus individuellen Musikrichtungen kommend, haben sich die vier Bandmembers gefunden und ihre Vorlieben zu einem gemeinsamen Sound vereint. Bald war klar, dass der Fokus auf Instrumentalmusik gelegt werden soll. Die internationale Musikszene wurde bald auf die Band aufmerksam.
Fors wurde als einzige CH-Band ans wichtigste Festival in Europa „Night Of The Prog 2019“ auf der Loreley in Deutschland eingeladen. Dort spielte Fors mit Grössen wie Nick Mason (Pink Floyd), Tangerine Dream, Steve Hillage und vielen mehr.
Im Herbst 2019 stand Fors als Supporting Act von »Mystery« im Rahmen ihrer Welttournee für die Konzerte in Deutschland und der Schweiz auf der Bühne.
Der Musikstil der Schweizer Band ist irgendwo im Universum von „progressiv“ zu suchen. Um die Ausrichtung jedoch etwas gezielter zu umschreiben, nennt Fors ihren Sound „Instrumental Sphere Rock“.
Gewaltig, zart, schnell, langsam, rockig, sphärisch und irdisch sind die Attribute der Eigenkompositionen. Die erste CD „Before“ wurde 2018 aufgenommen. Bis Sommer 2019 konnte die CD aber nur via Fors-Website bestellt werden. Nun soll die CD in den öffentlichen Vertrieb (ohne Stream-Plattformen) kommen.

In 2017, three German rock icons met at Incredible Pack and dedicated themselves to the blues. In 2020 the band decided to record their debut album "Packed In Blue".
Already the first sounds of the first song "DOA" show what to expect on the record. The first guitar sounds are accompanied by a rattle and a mood is created that transports the listener mentally into the vastness of Texas. From this a blues piece develops in the direction of the Little Ol` Band. Martelle's rough, rather spoken style of singing, guitar riffs and solos are stylistically reminiscent of ZZ Top. The dynamic song is supported by Manni von Bohr working on the drums and the bubbling bass, played by Tony Spagone, who also form a strong rhythm section in the other songs, played to the point.
The high level of the opener is not left in the further course of the disc, and stylistically the rather rough blues rock made in Texas is the defining element. With the exception of a few cover songs, most of it came from the pen of Martelle, the fronter of the band, who was also responsible for the production in the Frankfurt Jungle Studios. Only with the Bowie cover "Rebel Rebel" with a psychedelic intro and a first verse, which seems to be sung from beyond the grave, the blues is a little behind and a rocking version of the classic develops. With the album, Martelle, after having been active in German rock for a long time as an active part of the Jule Neigel Band, has arrived where his real musical love is, blues rock.
The strong debut of the band ends with the blues classic "Bullfrog Blues", which Martelle announces in the intro as an often covered song.
It is positive that the interspersed cover songs do not serve to spice up the record, but rather represent an addition to their own blues songs, in which Martelle also shows his qualities in songwriting.
It will be interesting when the power trio can finally present the songs live, as it is material that gives a lot of leeway for free musical development.
Blues and rock fans will like the album, where three "oldies" show with a lot of playfulness that they are far from old and that blues made in Germany can also be of high quality!

Wenn sich drei Rockikonen zusammentun, dessen Vergangenheit sich wie das Who is Who der deutschen Musikszene liest, und die sich dann dem Bluesrock widmen, kann man sich auf eine „Unglaubliche Packung“ einstellen. 2017 hat sich mit Gitarrengenius Andreas Schmid-Martelle, dem „German Pope of drumming“ (US Drummer Magazine) Manni von Bohr und dem Bassman mit internationalem Format, Ufo Walter, ein Powertrio gefunden, dessen Musik „straight and tough“ aus den Boxen kommt und dem Bandnamen alle Ehre macht: „Incredible Pack“. „Andreas, Ufo und ich sind schon lange in der deutschen Szene mit verschiedenen Bands unterwegs und wissen, was wir spielen wollen. Wir sind ein echtes, ehrliches Power- Trio, die frischen Rock ’n’ Roll-Wind in die etwas abgeschliffene Pop und Rockszene in Deutschland wehen lassen“, erklärt Manni die Intention der Band. Und Andreas ergänzt, „Unsere Musik ist 90 Prozent Rock ’n’ Roll, 5 Prozent Blues und 5 Prozent Funk“.
Nach ihrem ersten Album „Packed in Blue“ (2020), das man am ehesten mit Bluesrock made in Texas beschreiben könnte, zeigen sie auf dem Nachfolger „Time For Decisions“ (03.12.2021) erneut einen texanisch geprägten Bluesrock, der eine gelungene Liaison mit Classic-/Hardrock eingeht. Während der veranstaltungslosen Zeit haben sich die Jungs entschlossen, lieber kreativ zu sein als Trübsal zu blasen und legen nun ein zweites Album nach.
Stilistisch führt das „Incredible Pack“ ihre powervolle Linie auf „Time For Desicions“ fort und Martelle gelingt es mit dem richtigen Fingerspitzengefühl im Songwriting, Stücke mit hohem Wiedererkennungswert zu schaffen. Dabei vermengt er gelungen in einzelnen Songs mehrere Musikstile, ohne dass es zu scheinbaren Brüchen in den Stücken kommt. Beispielsweise das zunächst hart rockende „Hot Shot“, bei dem sich Martelle mit einem auch zu ZZ Top passenden Gitarrensolo auf den Weg zum eher harten texanischen Bluesrock begibt.
Die stilistische Vielfalt wird möglich durch zwei Meister ihres Faches, den beiden Urgesteinen des Rocks, Manni von Bohr und Ufo Walter, die eine Rhythmussektion bilden, die für eine volle und regelrecht treibende Soundgrundlage sorgen. Dazu das vielseitige Gitarrenspiel von Martelle, der neben der Rhythmusarbeit immer wieder feine Soli einstreut. „Wir spielen Musik für Ohr, Hirn und Bein, mit griffigen, energiereichen Songs, die weder platt noch einfallslos sind“, erläutert Manni.
In den Songs sind zuweilen Analogien zu Bluesgrößen erkennbar, indem geschickt Melodien oder Soli in leicht abgewandelter Art in der Band eigenen Songstruktur eingebaut werden, so dass beim leicht balladesken „Let Me Be Your Friend“ bei Jimi Hendrix Fans Erinnerungen an „Little Wing“ aufkommen können. Es ist gewissermaßen eine Zeitreise durch die Welt des eher härteren Bluesrock, in dem auch groovende Nummern wie „Sleeping With The Lights On“, was auch Dr. Feelgood gut zu Gesicht gestanden hätte, ein gutes Beispiel liefert. Oder das harte „Disbelieve“, in dem der Gesang im Refrain schon in Richtung Lemmy geht; wobei Martelles vielfältige Stimme eine Spur weicher ist. Mit „Don`t Think About Her When You’re Trying To Drive“ und „Hello Josephine“ sind auf der CD noch zwei Bonustracks, welche qualitativ auch nicht als Lückenfüller zu sehen sind, denn auf eine CD passt einfach mehr als auf ein Vinylalbum.
„Time For Decisions“ ist ein in sich geschlossenes Gesamtwerk, das mit einem feinen Händchen beim Songwriting und der Zusammenstellung der Songs auch eingefleischte Bluesfans anspricht. Damit zeigt die alte Garde des deutschen Rocks, dass sie noch lange nicht zum alten Eisen gehören, sondern immer noch vor Energie strotzen. Und diese Energie gibt es schon bald live auf der Bühne mit einer randvollen Setlist aus beiden Alben. „Wir konnten bisher noch nicht touren und haben in dieser Besetzung noch kein Konzert gespielt. Aber wir sind total heiß darauf, das Programm live zu spielen und das Publikum erwartet eine geballte Ladung ‚Rock ’n’ Roll right in yer face’ “, erzählt Martelle enthusiastisch.
Das Incredible Pack hat mit „Time For Decisions“ eine gute Entscheidung für sich und alle Blues- und Rockfans getroffen - eine Einladung zum richtig Austoben.

When three rock icons get together, whose past reads like a who's who of the German music scene, and who then devote themselves to blues rock, you can expect an “unbelievable package”. In 2017, guitar genius Andreas Schmid-Martelle, the 'german pope of drumming' (US Drummer Magazine) Manni von Bohr and the bass man with international stature, Ufo Walter, found a power trio whose music "Straight and Tough" comes out of the speakers and lives up to the band name: "Incredible Pack". “Andreas, Ufo and I have been on the German scene with various bands for a long time and we know what we want to play. We are a real, honest power trio who let the fresh rock'n'roll wind blow into the somewhat polished pop and rock scene in Germany, "Manni explains the intention of the band. And Andreas adds, "Our music is 90 percent rock'n'roll, 5 percent blues and 5 percent funk".
After their first album “Packed in Blue” (2020), which could best be described as blues rock made in Texas, on their successor “Time For Decisions” (03.12.2021) they again show a Texas-influenced blues rock, which is a successful liaison with classic / hard rock. During the time when there were no events, the guys decided to be creative rather than moping up and are now releasing a second album.
Stylistically, the “Incredible Pack” continues its powerful line on “Time For Desicions” and Martelle succeeds in creating songs with a high recognition value with the right instinct in songwriting. In doing so, he successfully mixes several styles of music in individual songs, without any apparent breaks in the pieces. For example, the initially hard rocking “Hot Shots”, in which Martelle sets off to the rather hard Texan blues rock with a guitar solo that also goes well with ZZ Top.

The stylistic diversity is made possible by two masters of their field, the two rock veterans, Manni von Bohr and Ufo Walter, who form a rhythm section that provides a full and downright driving sound basis. In addition, the versatile guitar playing by Martelle, who, in addition to the rhythm work, repeatedly intersperses fine solos. "We play music for ears, brains and legs, with catchy, high-energy songs that are neither flat nor unimaginative," explains Manni.
Analogies to greats of the blues can sometimes be seen in the songs, in that melodies or solos are skilfully incorporated into the band's own song structure in a slightly modified way, so that Jimmy Hendrix fans have memories of "Little Wing" in the slightly ballad-like "Let Me Be Your Friend" can arise. In a sense, it is a journey through time through the world of heavier blues rock, in which groovy numbers such as "Sleeping With The Lights On", which Dr. Feelgood is a good example. Or the hard “Disbelieve”, in which the vocals in the chorus already go in the direction of Lemmy; with Martelle's diverse voice being a touch softer. With "I Don`t Think About Her" and "Josefine" there are two bonus tracks on the CD, which qualitatively cannot be seen as filling the gaps, because a CD simply fits more than a vinyl album.
“Time For Decisions” is a self-contained oeuvre that appeals to die-hard blues fans with a fine hand in songwriting and the compilation of songs. With this, the old guard of German rock shows that they are far from old and that they are still bursting with energy. And there will soon be this energy live on stage with a full setlist from both albums. “We haven't been able to tour yet and haven't played a concert with this line-up. But we're really excited to play the program live and the audience is expecting a full load of 'Rock' n 'Roll right in yer face', "says Martelle enthusiastically.
With “Time For Decisions”, the Incredible Pack made a good decision for itself and all blues and rock fans - an invitation to let off steam.

Kofi Baker, the son of drummer icon Ginger Baker, started his professional career at the age of fourteen. The excellent drummer, who is equally at home in rock, punk or jazz, worked in the eighties and nineties with such greats as Randy California (Spirit), John Etheridge (Soft Machine), Dick Heckstall-smith (Colosseum), Steve Waller (Manfred Mann), Steve Marriott (Humble Pie), Jack Bruce or Jonas Hellborg, and has also repeatedly appeared on stage with his father in the past.
After various solo releases, the musician, who now lives in Orange, California, founded the power trio Cream Experience, with which he revives the genre-defining sound of the Cream formation. Together with guitarist (and lead singer) Chris Shutters and bassist Bob Willemstein, he transfers the timelessly brilliant mix of blues, hard and psychedelic rock into the present in a highly authentic way.
In the context of the now available concert recording from October 2014 from the Meisenfrei Blues Club in Bremen, he presented songs from the (Cream) formation Blind Faith ("Presence Of The Lord", "Do What You Like", "Can't Find My Way Home") in addition to selected highlights from the Cream repertoire such as "Sunshine Of Your Love", "White Room", "I'm So Glad", "Badge", "Spoonful" or "Crossroads". With "Little Wing" the trio also had a composition by Jimi Hendrix in their top-class program.

Jetzt liegt mit der Doppel-CD „Live In Gifhorn“, die am 14.04.2015 im Rahmen ihrer „A To Z“-Tour im dortigen KultBahnhof aufgezeichnet wurde, ein aktuelles Dokument ihrer ungebrochenen hochkarätigen Performerqualitäten vor.
So präsentierte das virtuose Quartett einen vorzüglichen Querschnitt aus seinem reichhaltigen Oeuvre, spielte Songs aus seinen Studioklassikern „Don't Point Your Finger“ (1981) und „Third Degree“ (1982), wartete mit Material von späteren Alben wie „On The Road Again“ (1991) und „It's Never Too Late!“ (2009) auf und begeisterte mit Nummern, die bereits sein sensationelles Live-Debüt krönten („Tore Down“, „Pack, Fair & Square“, „Wooly Bully“).

Acht Jahre nach ihrem Debütalbum ist Space Elevator mit "Persona Non Grata" ein bemerkenswertes drittes Album gelungen. Das Album enthält elf herausragende Titel, die von Leadsängerin The Duchess und Gitarrist David Young geschrieben wurden. Das Songwriting basiert auf den musikalischen Einflüssen der größten und besten Bands der Geschichte, jedoch mit einem modernen Twist, der einen einzigartigen Sound bei Space Elevator erzeugt. Die Songs sind im klassischen Rock-Genre angesiedelt, weisen aber auch Elemente von Pop, Prog und sogar Funk wie bei "Love You Better", auf.
Nach dem cineastischen Intro „Persona Non Grata, Part 1“ mit seiner Mischung aus akustischen Gitarren und Streichern, wird im direkt folgenden Part 2 der Aufzug in Fahrt gebracht. Schwere Gitarren und ein hartes Schlagzeug zusammen mit dem aggressiven Gesang von The Duchess verschmelzen zu einem hörenswerten komplexen und dynamischen Sound, der die instrumentalen Fähigkeiten der Band zur Geltung bringt. Das progressive Zusammenspiel von Gesang, der in manchen Sequenzen in einer Oper Platz finden würde, um sich kurz danach in eine Rockröhre zu wandeln, und teils in den Hardrock reichenden Gitarrenspiel, sorgen mit Unterstützung der starken Rhythmussektion für einen kompakten fetten Sound, mit Stil- und Tempowechseln. Dabei gelingt es der Band aber, diese Wechsel in den Stücken so ineinander zu verflechten, dass es zu keinen Brüchen kommt.
Die musikalische Nähe zum Frühwerk von Queen ist offensichtlich, aber auch Anklänge an Kate Bush, Genesis und sogar an moderne Ikonen wie Pink sind zu hören. So wird The Duchess starker Gesang in einigen Songs noch von zum Teil selbst gesungenen choralen Backgoundvoices z.B. in „Duchess Of This Town“ unterstützt, was auch Queen als Stilmittel einsetzte. Die Kernband, bestehend aus Schlagzeuger Brian Greene, Bassist Chas Maguire und Gitarrist David Young, wird ergänzt durch Klavier und Keyboards von Michael Bramwell, der zusammen mit Produzent Adam Vanryne zu einem bombastischen und theatralischen Stil beiträgt, der oft in den Grooves von Alice Cooper, Jellyfish oder Led Zeppelin zu finden ist. Space Elevator bleiben jedoch ihrem eigenen, einzigartigen Sound treu, der sich durch ihr Songwriting und ihren gemeinsamen Sound vom Mainstream abhebt.
Das abschließende "Reverie and Souvenirs" wandelt sich nach der Hälfte des Stücks von einer Power-Ballade zu einem sechzehntaktigen Music-Hall-Jazz, bei dem The Duchess einen exquisiten Harmoniegesang beisteuert. Der Hörer wird von der Vielfalt der Rhythmus- und Stilwechsel überrascht, die nahtlos ineinander übergehen und einige clevere Kompositionen und Arrangements zeigen.
Interessant ist, dass beim Zuhören manche Dinge erst beim zweiten oder dritten Abspielen richtig wahrgenommen werden, das Album nicht an Reiz verliert und so zum wiederholten Anhören einlädt.
In der Form kann Space Elevator bei Fans der klassischen und progressiven Rockmusik eine Lücke schließen, welche die altgedienten Bands hinterlassen haben und frischen Wind in diese Szene bringen.

Wer in den sechziger Jahren The Mothers of Invention unter der Regie von Frank Zappa live erleben durfte, konnte ein unvergessliches musikalisches Erlebnis zu seinen Erinnerungen zählen. Obgleich die legendäre Originalband, die seinerzeit den (kritischen) Soundtrack zu Studenten-Unruhen und Hippie-Kultur lieferten, in ihrer ursprünglichen Form nur kurze Zeit existierte, war sie doch für unzählige Musiker der damaligen Generation von prägendem Einfluss.
Unter dem Namen The Grandmothers of Invention ist diese Band sozusagen die legitime (und aktuelle) Nachfolgeformation der 1980 von Don Preston, Bunk Gardner und Jimmy Carl Black gegründeten The Grandmothers.
Der nun erscheinende Livemitschnitt wurde im November 2014 im Rahmen ihrer damaligen Europa-Tournee im Bremer Meisenfrei Bluesclub aufgezeichnet und präsentiert ausgesuchte Kompositionen aus dem vielschichtig spannende Werk Frank Zappas.

The album was written, arranged and recorded during the global Covid 19 pandemic. Craig Hinds started gathering initial ideas in early 2020. The songs developed slowly and when he was allowed to travel again, he met with his bandmates in Johannesburg to develop the tracks further in joint sessions. "There was a lot to write about because the emotions were high, families and couples were separated and 'times they are / were a-changing' as legend Bob Dylan would have put it" (CRAIG HINDS).
"Elephant In The Room" is a solid and warm album with twelve tracks that was recorded in a trio formation (Craig Hinds (voc, g, p), Howie Combrink (dr, voc) and Gideon Botes (g). The latter is also responsible for the production and the mixing, which he was supported by Hinds and Combrink. It contains, in addition to the usual excellent Craig Hinds compositions, also a stunning Watershed interpretation of the Bruce Springsteen classic "I'm On Fire" LP contains a good mix of up-tempo songs, classic watershed ballads and mid-tempo pieces, and the group's music has evolved over the years, incorporating a variety of influences without deviating too far from what Watershed is has always mattered.
Lyrically, Craig Hinds undertakes a journey into the unknown and questions everything that happens around him, while at the same time trying to address the “elephant in the room”. "There are just too many opinions and nobody really addresses the real situation" (CRAIG HINDS). In true Watershed songwriting tradition, the songs take up topics from everyday life, everyday worries, everyday ups and downs and everyday love in order to create songs that you won't get out of your head for a long time. His greatest fear is not being able to write a hit. “It doesn't matter how much you tour, how many fans you have or how many network followers click on your site. If you don't have good songs, you're not going anywhere ”(CRAIG HINDS).
But if you are expecting a new "Indigo Girl", you may be disappointed because Watershed anno 2021 has become more contemporary and rockier. Watershed have developed stylistically, but do not deny their own special sound. Haunting, energetic and sophisticated indie folk pop rock. Songs like the single “Undone”, “Map Of My Behavior”, the bonus track “Countdown” or the title track itself have a terrific driving drum kit without losing the melody affinity of the Hinds compositions. Memories of early R.E.M., Coldplay and the Crash Test Dummies are awakened. The focus of the instrumentation is an excellent mix of guitars, electric piano and the distinctive and naturally expressive voice of Craig Hinds.

Eighteen years after the release of their debut album ‘In The Meantime’, Watershed have put together their seventh studio album, ‘Harbour'. This South African music success story has had a string of radio singles that way surpasses the years they have been around. ‘Indigo Girl’, ‘Fine Way’ and ‘Letters’ are some of the tracks that put the band on national charts. The band has toured and had major success in the big European territories, performing alongside some of the biggest names in the music world, such as U2, Peter Gabriel, Bob Geldof, The Corrs and The Cranberries and recently, James. Craig Hinds, lead singer and songwriter of Watershed, has built a career on lyrics and melodies that have touched the fans and consistently grown a following with every album they’ve produced. ‘Harbour' boasts 10 tracks that are acoustic in their construction, and current in their appeal. Hinds teamed up with fellow band made and producer, Gideon Botes, to come up with a great production for the album. “We took a while to get this album done as we had to carve time out of our own schedules to work on this record. It’s not that easy to record and produce a full album within weeks. It requires a different kind of discipline but allowed us the freedom to listen to each track and make improvements, of course. It’s actually so amazing to be part of a band who’s individually talented and more than that, mature enough to let the songs do the talking without the influence of too much ego. It’s such a privilege to work with each of them,” said Hinds. 
The band consist of Craig Hinds, lead vocalist and guitar, Howie Combrink on drums and guitar, Gideon Botes on electric guitar, Quintin Askes on bass and Paul Mc Iver on acoustic guitar. The musicianship on this album is incredible and the vocals predictably powerful. The song structures are original and the lyrics of each track breathtakingly honest. The ballads, true to the form and style of this well-loved band, are meaningful and emotional beyond our wildest dreams. Lyrically, Craig and the team has captured stories that we all live with daily and will feel forever. ‘Harbour’ is well balanced with an even spread of up-tempo tracks with the sounds of mandolins, banjos, violins and ukuleles, playing an integral part in this incredible energy. 
The band also paid tribute to the 80’s Waterboys song, ‘Fisherman’s Blues’. They’ve been performing this track live and added a cover of it on their new album. The first single of the album, ‘Mountainside’ is an up tempo, groove filled, bass driven track. The message is simple; it’s time to move on from the negativity we are faced with every day. “I’m waiting for the perfect day to spread my wings and fly down the mountainside”, says Hinds. We can continue to explore cause and effect but the actual route to a life that’s meaningful and forward moving is to embrace simplicity and explore the small joys that give us true meaning. Another great song on the album is ‘Out The Window’, featuring the South African icon, Lira. This duet is simply incredible with the two voices working together to give us a hauntingly beautiful song about two people watching themselves grow old together from a third person perspective. Craig continued saying, “Lira is a dream to work with and her enthusiasm and straight up love for what she does reminds me why we do what we do. It’s not about trying to find the next hit or breaking into a market, it’s about creating a song from nothing and watching it grow into something so much more than you ever imagined.” The band just came back from a successful nationwide tour, with already a busy schedule ahead. They’ll continue their Harbour tour throughout the year, taking their new album to almost every city in South Africa with live shows – making sure all their fans get their hands on it.
